We have years of fishing and hunting experience all over the world and operating two excellence fishing lodges in Iceland.

Arctic Empire Iceland is looking for salmon fishing guide in Nordura river river from 21.June- 1.september 2024. Nordura is approx. 1 hour and 15 minutes drive from capital city of Iceland, Reykjavik.

Job description:

The job requires being a fly fishing guide in Nordura river, Iceland. The person has to transfer our domestic or global guest to our river by 4x4 jeep. We are looking for person that can work amongst our great team of guides. The main role for our guides is to give our customers great experience while they are fishing and give them guidance how to catch a salmon in the river, changing leaders and flies. Serve them at all cost and maximum their experience and catch on the river bank. The job requires high skill set of salmon fly fishing, being rich in hospitality and service and be extremely punctual. The daily routine for our guides after the customers‘s welcoming briefing at arrival is to meet the guests at 3.30 pm. At 4 pm, the guide will make sure their customer are correctly set up with equipment and safety rules are being briefed. From that point you will assist the customer on and off the river bank until 9:00 pm. Staff dinner is being served shortly after the evening shift. In the next day, the guides shall be ready at 8 am and take the guest to the river after good breakfast. That shift is from 8:00am to 1:00 pm. Lunch and a break is from 1:00-4:00 pm. If the river is not fully booked, the person have to be able to assist the lodge operation.

The criteria for the guide role is as follows:

- Has to have over 15 years experience as a fly fishing angler
- English language skills required. Spanish and French language skills are preferred.
- Has to have at minimum 6 years experience as a guide in a salmon lodge in Iceland, Scotland or Argentina.
- Is at least 25 years old.
- Must have enormous interest in fly fishing and service.
