atNorth continues to expand in Fitjar and is seeking a a dynamic and experienced professional for the Control SME position.

Main areas of responsibility

The Controls SME will optimize the delivery and operation of our Building Management Systems to ensure it is completed on time, is safe, robust, reliable, and conforms to our design and quality requirements. Supporting internal cross-functional teams, support installation and commissioning efforts at the project level, oversee quality, and quickly be able to adapt in an evolving space. Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates and upon which our innovative services are delivered.

The Controls Subject Matter Expert will also be responsible for procedure-based controls of equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, training, and project oversight. The SME will support data center daily operations and global quality/standardization initiatives and will have a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.

This is a permanent, full-time position and is open to candidates of all genders.

Responsibilities

Provide technical assistance as subject matter experts on Construction site activities and Operational support to the sites.
Support and conduct preventative maintenance, repair, installation, and commissioning of the BMS in our datacenters.
Perform BMS inspections (wiring, installation, and commissioning) and validate the status/progress of the projects including supporting the project teams, both internal and external.
Review operating equipment data for efficiency improvements, monitor all building systems for abnormal operating trends, and make optimization adjustments accordingly.
Coordinate and manage both packaged equipment factory installed controls audits and BMS commissioning audits to ensure specification/requirement adherence and track identified deficiencies through completion.
Provide QAQC oversight of controls scope, review proposals and review programming through commissioning process for new construction and retrofits
Provide technical controls training and support to all Operations staff.
Conduct Review Meetings to document and provide visibility to Project Status and Health to the greater organization.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the datacenter.

Education and Skills Requirements

Education in electrical installation/electrical engineering; additional technical training is an advantage.
Knowledge and experience with low-voltage
Broad understanding of electrical systems and equipment functionality.
Solid practical experience relevant to the role.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.
Proficiency in planning, documentation, and use of project management tools.
High level of accuracy, organizational skills, and initiative in work practices.
Fluency in English, both spoken and written.
Plan and schedule preventive and corrective maintenance activities to minimize downtime.
Monitor and report on maintenance metrics and KPIs to drive continuous improvement.
Support budgeting and cost control for maintenance operations.
Ensure that the work environment meets or exceeds all industry standards and company policies for safety and cleanliness
